A Snarky View (vol 5)
Disclosure: Since the A-Rod Rockne Show is on hiatus until coach Akua29's financial demands are met, the powers-to-be has given the green light to "A Snarky View". This show will hopefully be a sarcastic view of things going on in Rockne. If you are thin-skin, please stop here before your feelings are hurt.
Before we get started, any coach who would like to fill in for the Smart Dog, please send a site mail to the unworthy author listed above. You may also include any topics that you would like to discuss with the Snarky Dog.
Smart Dog: As promised, we are back for a back-to-back viewing. I must forewarn our readers that Snarky Dog is not in the best of moods. It seems like a coach pointed out a mistake that Snarky Dog made.
Snarky Dog: First, the day started off in fine fashion as the remnants of his dream with the "irish setter", the "golden retriever" and the "american eskimo" were fading away. Then several days after my predictions, some coach (Jamieh2009) I don't know want to ridicule the "Snarky Dog" with an error. Phooey, it was no error, it was a test to see if anyone read my profound statements closely. So, Jamieh2009, you passed the test, although timeliness could have been better. On the other hand, my other thorn, coach Waregl72, stayed quiet about his loss to Virginia State.
Smart Dog: OK, let's take our review of the WIS top 25 rankings. But before that, what teams outside the top 25 do you see as contenders.
Snarky Dog: It's shocking to see these many teams ranked so low after six games. I shouldn't even waste my time with them when I could be taking a nice doggie nap...maybe a great dane this time. Anyways, before Smart Dog starts his whining, let's start from the bottom, #37 West Liberty State should climb into the top twenty and maybe stay undefeated. #35 Indianapolis will also make a push into the top 20 with only a sure loss to Northern Michigan. Their game with Hillsdale will determine how high they climb. #31 Cheyney will also climb, possibly as high as 15th, before the regular season is over. #29 Texas A&M-Commerce continues their pattern of being ranked lower than their talent deserves due to their schedule consisting of all SIMs. Does any coach DARE to play them next season in an out-of-conference game? Lastly #26 West Chester will continue to climb upward before falling after their season ending loss to Bloomsburg.
Smart Dog: Nice point about TAMC. Since Valdosta State has already filled their schedule for next season, they will put out a challenge to TAMC for the season after. Now for teams 21-25.
Snarky Dog: Let's see, we have three new coaches, Hookemhorns7 (Smart Dog, you will need to come up with a different name to refer to him. I have some good ones I have heard from my OU friends), Maldito, and Boogerman. Humboldt State could be a legit threat from the talent put together on that team. Ferris State is also one to keep an eye on, but still not much of a worry yet.
Smart Dog: Thank you for being respectful to our new coaches. Maybe we will just refer to him as "7". Teams 16 thru 20 will be interesting to hear Snarky's views.
Snarky Dog: I can manage "7" without feeling the urge. Now I'm curious to what the story behind "1" thru "6". #20 is easy since it is a SIM. #17, #18, and #19 are interesting teams with Edinboro, Southern Connecticut, and Stonehill. All solid teams but not much to show in the playoffs. New coach Mojolad will be one to watch. If he sticks around, then Edinboro could become a threat. As for #16 Valdosta State, when North Alabama shows up, they fold like a cheap hand.
Snarky Dog: As I just said...North Alabama. Coach Seahawkr13 as given in to pulling out cheap tricks like getting the North Alabama team drunk. Sorry won't work. #14 St Joseph's with Coach Fla Dave is trying to get them back where they were during his first reign. Coach has a lot more work to do. West Alabama with coach Mjacques and his shotgun formation got into the playoffs for the first time last season. They will make it again, but they aren't North Alabama. And then there is #12 Shepherd. Coach Dawgnuts has gotten better as he gets older. I think have "dawg" in his name makes him a favorite. #11 Harding is improving but needs more time. He talks the brashness of youth, but we will see how he does tonight.
Smart Dog: Now on to the top 10. There are some top talent there.
Snarky Dog: Interesting mix. I see the two finalists and another three that can make up the rest of the final four. The rest are just hopefuls. If you been reading A Snarky View faithfully, then you know who there are. After them, Northern Michigan, Virginia State, and North Alabama are teams to watch out for. The remaining five, East Stroudsburg, Presbyterian, Fairmont State, North Dakota State, and Winona State will all need to work to advance even into the third round and the opportunity to impress Snarky Dog.
Smart Dog: That's it for tonight. Hope to be back sometime during the weekend.
