Rockne D2 Conference Rankings - Season 142

The "smart dog" got back late yesterday from a wonderful vacation in Pensacola Beach, Florida. I was able to do a lot of relaxing and a little celebrating my latest title. Although the season has started, the "annual" conference rankings could still be done. Besides the five categories that were used previously 1) number of human coaches, 2) coaches' stability, 3) quality of coaches, 4) number of top-25 teams, and 5) number of championships won in Rockne only, two additional categories of current conference recruiting class rankings and conference roster rankings were added.

12 (12) - Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Continued to drop in number of coaches. Now has just two, lsteenberg and fatjesus16, to carry on the conference banner. On top of that the Western division has all Sim coaches.

11 (10) - Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference - Had one team changed coaches, but still has three like last season. Conference has ability to win big as evidenced in other worlds.

10 (11) - Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference - Conference climbs a spot for the second season in a row. Added a coach and the other four are back.

9 (8) - Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Conference is starting to have potential again as all five coaches are back again. With time, the GLIAC could return back to its previous glory.

8 (6) - Lone Star Conference - Conference down to just two coaches, but one, akua29, has won multiple championships at Texas A&M-Commerce.

7 (7) - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Still have three coaches in its southern division, but none in its northern division.

6 (9) - North Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Conference has just three coaches, but may have the strongest conference championship rivalry game between North Dakota State and Humboldt State.

5 (5) - Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Conference still have seven coaches for the second straight season. On top of that, coach sportsdouche has Morehouse ready to contend with a senior class of 19 and another 25 juniors that includes nine red-shirts.

4 (4) - Gulf South Conference - Conference still has six coaches with a couple that have made their first or second playoff appearances.

3 (3) - Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference - Conference back "down" to six coaches. Conference didn't like the "smart dog" observation last season and coach jms245 went out and led Bloomsburg to the title. For those who don't remember last season's observations, here's what was written: Still waiting for conference to win their next championship after being shut out for 18 seasons after winning three straight.

2 (2) - Northeast 10 Conference - Conference is still sitting solidly in the second spot. Conference is led by Long Island with coach bigpoppa85 and their four consecutive title game appearances.

1 (1) - South Atlantic Conference - Conference benefits from having three long-time coaches (rposborne, clememp, and dawgnuts) joined by two other respectable coaches (coachoatie and dessasdad05). Only thing missing is for the conference to get at least one team into the final four.
