Rockne D2 Conference Rankings - Season 141
The "smart dog" lost tracked of time and should have completed this yesterday, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Not wanting to skip it entirely here's the new rankings, no matter how subjective it may be. To start this imperfect rankings, the "smart dog" had to decide what factors to use to take out as much personal bias as possible from it. The five categories used were 1) number of human coaches, 2) coaches' stability, 3) quality of coaches, 4) number of top-25 teams, and 5) number of championships won in Rockne only.
12 (10) - Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Dropped from 5 to 4 coaches. One ranked team at #9. From other worlds this conference can be an enjoyable and very competitive. Hopefully more coaches will check it out and then stick around.
11 (12) - Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference - Conference still has just one team ranked in the top 25. Four of the five coaches are back from last season plus a new coach. If they can stick around, the RMAC could continue to climb.
10 (11) - Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference - Improvement from last season with two ranked teams and one additional coach.
9 (7) - North Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Top ranked team along with another team climbing each season. Downside is conference is one of two with just three coaches.
8 (9) - Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Conference went from four coaches to seven; although none of them have been with their team more than four season. Three ranked teams at #7, #15, and #25 plus two of the "smart dog" favorite teams.
7 (8) - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - The other conference with just three coaches. Only conference that has a division with no human coaches.
6 (3) - Lone Star Conference - Conference dropped from six to four coaches as three departed and one came aboard.
5 (5) - Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference - Jumped up to seven coaches with three ranked teams. South division could be fun with five coaches.
4 (4) - Gulf South Conference - Conference that is on the rise after putting together the top recruiting class. Increased number of coaches by one to six total.
3 (6) - Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference - Conference up to seven coaches and the only one with two teams in the top ten. Still waiting for conference to win their next championship after being shut out for 18 seasons after winning three straight.
2 (2) - Northeast 10 Conference - With Long Island residing with defending championship winning coach bigpoppa85, conference is strong with #2, #12, and #23 ranked teams. Closing the gap to be the top conference.
1 (1) - South Atlantic Conference - This conference is by far the most stable of all. All the coaches are back for another season. Three coaches with over 25 seasons with their current teams. Stability earns the conference the top spot, but could use a boost in their individual team rankings and a national title to bring more prestige to them.
