Game 6 of the Night - Season 140
Previous GotN Prediction: Southern Connecticut 32 - Lane 24
Result: Southern Connecticut 24 - Lane 14
Intro/comments/match-up: Lane gave it an outstanding effort and was able to make a good game out of it, but the difference in talent level was too much to overcome.
The game started with both teams going three and out. On Lane's second possession, they were in fantastic position to score with a 1st and goal at the 1-yard line. Three plays later, it was 4th and goal at the 1-yard line. After getting stuff for no gain, the chance to get the home crowd into the game went out the window. After several changes of possessions with not much offense to note, Lane threw an interception that allowed SC to start the drive in their red zone. Lane's defense stood tough allowing just a field goal. SC went on a 82-yard drive on their first possession of the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead. After a bunch of punts, Lane was able to go on another drive and scored their first points with 1:17 left to cut the lead to 10-7 at the half. SC responded with a touchdown drive of their own on their first possession of the second half to increase their lead back up to ten. Towards the end of the third quarter, SC started another drive that went into the fourth quarter resulting in another touchdown and a 24-7 lead. Lane was able to return a punt for a touchdown with 4:28 left to finish out the scoring.
For tonight we are going to the great state of Texas and a stopover in the Lone Star conference. Surprisingly, the game doesn't include Texas A&M-Commerce. Instead we are travelling down the road a bit to southwest of the metroplex where Tarleton State will be hosting Angelo State.

Comments: Coach Joeydefone has had Angelo State in the playoffs his first four seasons. Unfortunately for the Rams, those appearances all ended with a first round loss. Tonight's game will be their first test of the season and could be a factor in determining if the coach can get his first playoff win at ASU.
Team: Tarleton State
Coach: Munchnugget # of Seasons: 10
Roster Breakdown:
Seniors: 8
Juniors: 15
Sophomores: 12
Freshmen: 15
Offensive Formations: I, Notre Dame, Pro-set, Shotgun, Trips
Defensive Formations: 3-4
Key Wins: N/A
Losses: N/A
Comments: Coach Munchnugget has made the playoffs in four of his first nine seasons. The offense is good, but have a big concern at wide receiver where only a red-shirt sophomore and two sophomores man the position. The defense looks strong especially at linebacker. Team has a junior and freshman punter which is unusual to see.
Tonight's Prediction: Tarleton State's defense will make it tough for Angelo State to score, but their offense won't be able to score enough to pull out the victory. "Smart dog" see ASU winning the game with a hard fought 23-14 victory.
