Game 5 of the Night - Season 140
Previous GotN Prediction: Humboldt St 44 - Cheyney 42
Result: Humboldt St 55 - Cheyney 34
Intro/comments/match-up: Humboldt State has made themselves the team to beat. Not to say a team like Texas A&M-Commerce, Long Island, or Northern Michigan couldn't beat them, but the title will run thru Humboldt State. You want it this season, you better plan on figuring out a way to beat them.
Humboldt St took the opening kickoff and marched down the field before settling for a short field goal. After holding Cheyney to a 3-and-out, HS made short work of their next possession with two running plays to cover the entire 77 yards. Cheyney then did their own magic with a one-play 62-yard touchdown pass. HS then took their time marching down the field again, only to fumble just prior to scoring. HS then went ahead and scored on three of their final four possessions of the first half to lead 31-24 at the half. Cheyney was able to keep within range going into the 4th quarter but just couldn't match Humboldt State scoring drives.
