Game 11 of the Night
Previous GotN Prediction/Result: Long Island 45 - Southern Connecticut 10 / Long Island 50 - Southern Connecticut 7
Intro/comments/match-up: A statement victory for Long Island as they get ready for the playoffs. The game was close for the first quarter with Long Island holding on to a slim 3-0 lead. After scoring the first 16 points in the second quarter and swapping a touchdown with Southern Connecticut, the game was all but over with Long Island leading 26-7. Long Island then scored 10 and 14 points in the final two quarters respectively to finish the rout.
With no compelling games to pick from for the GotN, the "smart dog" found an interesting game in the SIAC and the chance to catch up with one of the better teams from last season.
Team: Lane
Coach: Heyunous # of Seasons: 1
Roster Breakdown:
Seniors: 7
Juniors: 15
Sophomores: 10
Freshmen: 18
Offensive Formations: I, Pro-set, Trips
Defensive Formations: 3-4, 4-3, Nickel, Dime
Losses: 14-41 #10 Shepherd
Comments: Coach Heyunous took over from the previous coach of four seasons. Before that, Lane was ran by SIM. Team is still improving its vision while slowly moving up in the polls. Although currently sitting at #25 in the WIS polls, Lane has the tough game tonight and then finish the season against St Joseph's. Win one of them and a playoff berth should be assured. Lose both and team will probably be watching the playoffs from home.
Team: Morehouse
Coach: Sportsdouche # of Seasons: 7
Roster Breakdown:
Seniors: 13
Juniors: 5
Sophomores: 1
Freshmen: 31
Offensive Formations: Pro-set
Defensive Formations: 3-4
Comments: As expected following their 16-1, 3rd round appearance, Morehouse is struggling against even decent teams with all their freshmen. In two seasons when they have 28 juniors, Morehouse will be a challenger before coming a legitimate threat for the title.
Tonight's Prediction: The "smart dog" was thinking Morehouse was going to be the pick after choosing this game for GotN. After looking thru all the information, the "smart dog" was swayed and now see Lane winning 28-20.
