Intro/comments/match-up: Season 138 got off to a terrible start for the not so "smart dog". is here. What was envisioned as a pass happy affair between these two teams finished way below expectations with just 441 yards passing. I will need to check back with coach Zharkins in a couple of seasons to see if his team becomes more of what my fuzzy memory remembers. On the flip side, a nice start for coach Vhoward415 and Edinboro with their solid victory. He faces a tough test tonight against Cheyney.

For tonight's contest, we are going to feature another first-timer on the GotN. This coach missed Rockne world so much, he couldn't stay away. He is in his third year of building up a different team. On the other side, a Wilkinson world Northern Sun conference opponent that should add a little more spice to this game. We are moving slightly south for a tilt between Western New Mexico and Glenville.

Comments: Western New Mexico has set up their schedule in a very wise way. Coach Tmelonhead started off the season with a convincing 47-3 win over a SIM. Now he is facing an up-and-coming Glenville team. From there, he faces tough games against Presbyterian and North Alabama. Sweep thru these games and we may see WNM feature again in one of his conference games. Coach Tmelonhead won his first conference title last season and made it to the second round.

Comments: After being led by coach SIM for 69 seasons, the Glenville's AD was able to convince Coach Dessasdad05 to come out of retirement after an outstanding 29 seasons at Midwestern State that resulted in an amazing 29 conference championships and 5 national championships. Coach is following his plan for getting his roster "balanced" the way he prefers. Now it will be a matter of time to get the players he need to win in the competitive SAC.

Tonight's Prediction: Although the "smart dog" has many memories of facing coach Dessesdad05 and only one recent game against coach Tmelonhead, the "smart dog" has learned a new trick and not let flashbacks decide his picks. Glenville will be a powerful team eventually, still having several SIMs will prevent them from upsetting Western New Mexico. WNM 28, Glenville 16.
