S137 Coach of the Year

The Coach of the Year Award is an annual college football award given to the Division II Football head coach whose team excels on the field.

Award recipients are chosen by current fellow coaches.

Catfish Jack Coached Virginia State for 2 seasons.

Virginia State finished the season 19-0. Won the National Championship 47-37.

He entered the season ranked #6 after making it to the quarterfinals last season. Virginia State led a high powered passing offense and produced the season record breaking wide receiver performance of Michael Dixon. Michael finished the season with 540 receptions for 8060 yards and 75 touchdowns. His reception per throw percentage was 68% with only 9 dropped passes.

VSU had struggled to move past the quarterfinals since season 127 and was last coached by Coral_Reefer. This season the team was mixed with half of both coaches recruits, but Catfish Jack was able to game plan against the best teams to finally win Virginia States first National Championship.
