Game 13 of the Night

As another regular season comes to an end, the "smart dog" finds six games on tonight's schedule that will decide division titles. While attempting to decide which game to choose as the GotN, the "smart dog" got an inspirational thought (yep, just one). Instead of have one game, we are going to have all six games on for Games of the Night.

Starting with the Gulf South, #22 Henderson State taking on #2 North Alabama. If Henderson State wins, there could be a three-way tie between them and Valdosta State. If my memory serves me correctly, since each of them beat each other, the next tie-breaker would be a tie between Valdosta State and North Alabama. Then it go to the WIS ranking...

Coach Lsteenberg is in his second season at Henderson State. He has played a smart schedule and have beaten several human-coached team. His only losses were to the #8 and #11 ranked teams. Win or lose, after missing the playoffs last season, Henderson State will be back in this season.

Coach Fazbear05 has an unbeaten season going at North Alabama with convincing wins over the #11 and #15 ranked teams. Team is currently ranked #2 and hopes to get one of the number one seeds.

Pick here is North Alabama 49, Henderson State 13. Henderson State rebuilding is still going on and just isn't ready for the top teams yet.

Moving on to the North Central, both division titles are on the line. On one side, unranked Nebraska-Omaha coached by Coach Jbob23 goes north to face also unranked North Dakota led by first year coach Zharkins. Both coaches have their teams improving. "Smart Dog" remember Zharkins for D3 days and facing his shotgun attack; so the pick here is North Dakota 38, Nebraska-Omaha 28.

In the other division unranked North Dakota State takes on #12 Humboldt State. Coach Cole lou has done a fantastic job as a first year coach taking over a long time SIM team. Unfortunately, Coach Jaylien1 has Humboldt State one OT loss to top ranked Virginia State from being ranked in the top five. Unless Coach Jaylien1 gets very distracted from his semi-final game in Heisman world, Humboldt wins this game easily 56-7.

Over in the PSAC, surprising unranked East Stroudsburg coach by Darryjones2 challenging #17 Bloomsburg and coach Jms245. Coach Jms245 is in his fifth season at the helm. After an opening season beatdown by #3 Ferris State, Bloomsburg has won eleven straight with wins over the #13 and #20 ranked teams. After 25+ seasons being ran by SIM, Coach Darryljones2 has East Stroudsburg sniffing for a playoff spot. Unfortunately, the flame goes out tonight as Bloomsburg wins 49-10.

In the SIAC, 2nd year coach Displacednyr and Kentucky State battles coach Fbuckster and Albany State. Albany State has five of their six losses against playoff-caliber teams and would need to win the conference to get into the playoffs. Kentucky State has three of their four losses against playoff-caliber teams and finds itself in the same boat as Albany State. The pick here is Kentucky State coming out on top 28-27.

And last (since I was waiting for a bride to skip this game), SAC has its seasonal battle for the division between #13 Presbyterian and #15 Tusculum. Both teams are 11-1 and both need the win and hopefully follow-up win for the conference title to get a higher seed and more favorable match-ups in the first two rounds. For no other reason than the fact Coach Clememp's Tusculum team can't seem to win when featured on the GotN, Presbyterian and Coach Rposborne takes home the division title with an overtime 36-33 win.

I hoped you all enjoyed the third season of the Game of the Night series. Like Akua29 mentioned, the "smart dog" agrees the playoffs will yield many upsets. Playoff brackets will make or break several teams, especially in the second round. Good luck everyone.

Finally, going to Heisman world and their semi-final games, Tusculum and coach Jaylien1 over Indianapolis and coach Hoovcats and St Joseph's and coach Omavenger over Humboldt State and coach Akua29. Congrats to coach Jaylien1 on his predicted championship.
