Game 12 of the Night

That's how the "smart dog" feels after watching Ferris State tear through Hillsdale's defense without hardly stopping to catch its breath. I could bore all y'all with the details but I'm afraid I'm already going to have nightmares about it tonight without have to relive it again.

With the last few games being very noncompetitive, we decided to change things up. Rankings were disregarded and went fishing for the best match-up. Hopefully what was reeled in will be a fantastic game.

For tonight, we have #31 Angelo State taking on #36 Texas A&M Kingsville in a Lone Star conference game. Even though no division titles are on the line, it's possible the winner will gain entry into the playoffs and the loser will just be on the outside watching.

At Angelo State, Coach Joeydefone is in his second season running the Rams. Currently Angelo State is 10-1, but haven't had a challenging schedule. Besides nine games against Sims and one game against an 0-11 team, their only test was a 49-17 loss to #4 Texas A&M Commerce. Coach Joeydefone is running Pro-Set on offense and 4-3 and Dime on defense.

On the opposite side, we have a new team to feature in Texas A&M Kingsville. Their coach is another that is on my list of top ten coaches. Coach Pete_61 hasn't done much so far in Rockne. Unfortunately for those coaches in Camp, we all know about his incredible run at Hillsdale. He has his team set up for I, Pro-Set, and Trips on offense, review of several of his games show he is using Trips as his choice. Defense is more puzzling. His formations show his players practicing 4-3, Nickel, and Dime, but his team is playing 3-4. Team is currently 8-3 with losses to #4 Texas A&M Commerce, #5 Long Island, and #23 West Liberty State.

Big game for both coaches, but the pick here is Texas A&M Kingsville 35-24.
