Game 2 of the Night

Game 1 is in the books and the "smart dog" is feeling pretty good. Although off by the score, the point difference was off by just one point. Coach Catfish Jack has sent a message across Rockne that Virginia State is a team to contend with this season. Led by their outstanding WR who finished the game with 24 catches for 358 yards and 2 touchdowns, Virginia State beat a tough MSU team 30-16.

Tonight's GotN match-up features two coaches entering their fifth season at their respective schools. The big difference between the two is one coach had to build his team from scratch after being ran by SIM for many seasons while the other coach took over a top-5 team. From the keystone state, we have an interesting game with Cheyney visiting Edinboro.

At Cheyney, coach Waregl72 is trying to continue the standards the previous coach established. After winning it all in his second season, he has been denied a return trip to the big game by having his season ended in the semi-finals the last two season. Cheyney will have to overcome having a red-shirt sophomore QB leading the team if they want to make it back to even the semis this season. Their offensive strength this season definitely lies with their wide receivers with two seniors and one red-shirt senior. On defense, Cheyney has only three seniors, but seven juniors.

On the other side, Edinboro has coach Vhoward415 trying to turn the school into a dynasty. He got the team to the playoffs for the first time during his tenure and only the sixth time in 136 seasons. The team has excellent balance on both offense and defense. Is Edinboro ready to take the next step in their forward progress and knock off a top-10 team?

The "smart dog" is looking forward to seeing how this game plays out. Can Edinboro get this signature win and let Cheyney know they are going to have a tough season? Or does Cheyney make a statement by walloping Edinboro and making reservations for the final four? Although impress with what Edinboro is doing, they aren't in Cheyney's class yet as Cheyney wins this PA bedlam game big 45-17.
