Preseason Game of the Night and Other Musings
The "smart dog" is feeling pretty good heading into the new season. After winning a national championship in a different world, hopes are higher the same can be done in Rockne...sometime, but not this season. My goal for this season is to make it into the second round. Unlike many other worlds, you don't get to play a gimme SIM team in the first round.
Hopefully everyone got thru recruiting without too much difficulties. It is sure different with many more coaches going after a lot of the best recruits. You definitely have to decide when to battle and when to walk away. Even for the "smart dog" it is one new trick that still needs to be learn.
Before we get to the "big" game tonight, the "smart dog" is going to predict the conference championship games now. Each season will get more difficult as the newer coaches get their teams up to their expectations. Without further ado...

And now, our traditional preseason game of the night. The Hillsdale Chargers are traveling south to take on the Tusculum Pioneers. Hillsdale is looking to get payback for last season's loss. Tusculum has the big advantage with a 14-3 edge in seniors. Hillsdale takes back the advantage with their junior class. The sophomore class is hard to determine and the freshmen class is just about a dead heat. If it was a regular season game, the pick would be the Pioneers. Since it is preseason, the official pick is the Chargers 35-28.
