Game 13 of the Night

Here we are approaching the end of another season.  Some teams are just playing out the schedule and getting ready for recruiting while others have inspirations of winning their conference and then the national championship.

Without further ado, let's see what we got for tonight.  In the Lone Star Conference, there's an interesting game between Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.  Angelo State needs the win to ensure their spot in the finals.  TAMK with new coach Pete_61 will have something to say about it and serve notice on the conference and especially TAMC with coach Akua29 that the Javelinas are looking to take over the conference.

Traveling from Texas to the Northeast, we find a game for the division title.  #14 Long Island with coach Bigpoppa85 is at home taking on visiting #24 Southern Connecticut State and coach Bce98a.  Both teams will make the playoffs, but before then, would love to win the NE-10 title by beating #15 Pace.

But for the Main Event of the Evening and the final Game of the Night for season 136, we have a heavyweight match-up between #3 Tusculum and #2 Presbyterian.

Coach Clememp has one of his better teams in the last three seasons.  He has 16 seniors to include five offensive linemen and eight defensive starters.  Coach likes to run I, Trips and Shotgun on offense and 4-3, Nickel, and Dime on defense.  The team is 12-0 and has played a respectable schedule to include a convincing win 34-20 over #16 North Alabama.

Also coming in at 12-0 is Coach Rposborne and Presbyterian.  He is coming off consecutive conference title and a visit to the third round of the playoffs last season.  He runs both Notre Dame and Trips on offense and 4-4 and Nickel on defense.  Presbyterian has also played a respectable schedule that also includes a convincing win over North Alabama 34-17.  I tried to contact coach Fazbear05 to get his comments and insights but was unsuccessful.

These two coaches have squared off against each other 25 times with coach Clememp holding a small edge 14-11 over coach Rposborne.  Pending the winning team going on and also winning the SAC conference title, then the winner should entered the playoffs as the overall #1 seed.  The other team should find itself going in as a two seed.

As this season went with many close games that made the "smart dog" have to ponder deeply before sputtering out his wisdom; once again, the "smart dog" has a tough decision to make.  After taking many seconds the pick is in, Presbyterian 17, Tusculum 18.
