Game 11 of the Night

For those tuning in to read about #15 and 10-0 Ferris State at #9 and 10-0 Hillsdale match-up for the division title, I apologize for not having it. Between wanting to avoid the same games each season and probably the better reason of not wanting to write about my team, I went elsewhere in my search.

With three games left, we still have 12 undefeated teams. I don't see Rockne having this many this far into the seasons once the new coaches get their teams up to their standards. Looking over the conference standings, we will lose four undefeated teams by the start of the playoffs. Will there be more?

Back to the Game of the Night. In a first for the GotN, we will have a team be featured in back-to-back games. Thanks to my statistician for that nugget. Morehouse, coming off their hard-earned 34-31 win against Lane (and the "smart dog") set sights on the division title when they travel to Rensselaer, Indiana to face off against #12 St Joseph's. Coach Sportsdouche used a strong running game (64 rushes for 285 yards) to keep the ball for 35:39 to win the game. That has been his game plan recently has the QB has only attempted 9, 17, and 16 passes in the last three game.

For St Joseph's, Coach Tutank is now in his 8th season. He lost out for the conference championship last season for the first time, but is planning on getting the trophy back. His 8-2 record is misleading since his losses were to currently #5 Northern Michigan and a heart breaker against #9 Hillsdale. Coach Tutank runs both Pro-Set and Trips on offense and 4-3, 4-4, and Nickel on defense. His offense is neutralized some by having a red-shirt sophomore at QB and no seniors on the offensive line (although there is a red-shirt junior). His defense has a loaded linebacker group with three seniors and a red-shirt junior. But at defensive back, there is just a red-shirt senior, two juniors, and a bunch of sophomores.

This should be a tight game and will swing with St Joseph's ability to stop Morehouse's rushing attack. The decision here is they will and get themselves in position to play for the conference title with a 23-17 victory.
