Game 2 of the Night

For tonight's game of the night, we are going with two teams that started the season in the top 10. Before we get to the game, kudos go to both coaches for being willing to schedule games against quality teams. There are many factors to consider when a coach makes their out-of-conference schedule. If each coach could schedule one game against another human-coached team that matches theirs in talent, it would make the entire season even more entertaining...and give me more games to choose from.

For tonight's game the featured game is preseason #4 Cheyney at preseason #6 Midwestern State. Not only is this a game between two heavyweights, it could be a precursor to a final eight or better playoff game.

Coach Waregl72 is in his fourth season at Cheyney. Except for three red-shirt seniors from Coach Robust trex's regime. So far, Cheyney is a perfect 40-0 during the regular season since the change in coaches. Coach Waregl72 runs the I formation for his offense and uses Nickel for his defense. After a tough game against preseason #24 Kentucky State where his offense gained only 274 yards. The bright spot was his defense held Ky St to just 205 yards.

Midwestern State has Coach Linux Box entering his 12th season. He runs both Pro-Set and Trips on offense and 4-3 and Nickel on defense. MSU had a balanced attack in winning their first game 39-0, although it was against a SIM.

I went back and forth in deciding who to pick. The "smart dog" even asked his two dogs for their opinion and ended up getting one vote (slobber) for each team. In a low scoring affair, Cheyney wins 17-13.
