S135 Conference Championships

Now that the Conference Championships are final, what did we learn from it?

In what is turning out to be an outstanding performance for Dukelegend, Kentucky St. beats Saint Joseph's for the second time this season. 55-30 victory and 636 yards of total offense has coaches around the league scratching their heads. Saint Joseph's hasn't lost the conference championship since season 105. KSU was coming off two 10 win seasons and now find themselves holding the title and advancing to the playoffs.

Huge shocker in the GLIAC, Ferris State returns to the spot light after 7 seasons when they lost brought home the title. Coachoatie did a great job of limiting Northern Michigan to score their normal 40+ points a game. First time FSU has won the Conference Championship in 7 seasons. This game was a statement game, any team has a shot to win it all this year.

Presbyterian won 25-20 over a stubborn Shepherd team who was tied 20-20 by the middle of the 3rd quarter but couldn't find a way to make anything else count. Heavy pressure on their QB made it difficult to complete over 50% and Presbyterian relentlessly pounded the ball on 39 carries for a 3.56 average.

RMAC had a dog fight as Fort Lewis played well but came up short in a loss to Midwestern St. 13-6. In a game of field goals Linux_Box shows why MSU is so tough to take down.

In the Lone Star conference, it was Tarleton State's all rushing attack and a swarming defense that surprised Texas A&M-Commerce in a 20-5 loss. Down 6-5 at the half, TAMC had to change focus to put up only 14 points in the 2nd half to win. Both teams combined for 111 rushing attempts and 521 yards on the ground.

Humboldt State needed to win after the last couple shaky seasons and they did so 33-12 over N. Dakota St.

In the NE-10, Long Island did not make and it was Southern Connecticut who represented the East versus Pace. Jpnroos did a great job capturing the title for the second year in a row with a 44-27 win.

Winona St. is holding firm, impressive win over WLSC 41-12 and azcowboy1 wins Winona's 11th CC over the past 12 seasons.
