Where did West Chester come from??

By now, if you have not checked out the latest Guess Recruit Ratings, you can take a quick peek here to get up to speed.

#2 West Chester had a break out season last year and is capitalizing on their momentum this season. This year 2000champou brought in the #2 recruit class and probably the first thing you will say is "Yea, but it's only on 7 guys".

Taking a closer look, what I see is a team who does not generate the same playoff conference money and had the confidence to battle Valdosta St. and Cheyney for players.

They may not have won the battles, but their #2 ranking is more of a statement this season that they are here!

2000champou has recruited 6th, 4th, 8th, 6th and now 2nd best class and will bring in the #5 team into season 134. Not bad, considering they ranked 11th last season and made it to the Quarterfinals. One of the players I really like is Defensive Lineman Martin Young who is was rated at 81 tackle, 67 strength, 63 game instinct and is going to be the best DL in a few years anchoring their 3-4 scheme.

Looking Around the League...

#1 Texas A&M-Commerce Lions akua29 brings in the top class and grabbed the #1 speed RB, #1 & #2 defensive backs. All of their selections were rated inside the Top Ten. There was a big need at WR and they recruited 3 of them all ranked #10 and under.

#3 Cheyney Wolves Waregl72 snags his best class since taking over and captured the #1 WR Mark Connolly, #1 OL Michael Mitchell. Most of the signings land within the Top Ten. Without knowing what Waregl72 saw as his biggest need, it was clear that Wide Receivers were on the menu with his second pick of #5 WR Daniel Nash. The rest of the picks came in pairs which leaves a nice balance.

#4 Presbyterian Blue Hose Rposborne solid mixture of Top 15 recruits for a large class size of 15. Defensive line appeared to be a need as Rposborne picked up the #6, #11 and #22 DL's. They had to pick up some depth at Linebacker also Gregory Robinson ranked in at #11 and looks like a very solid pick up.

#5 Ferris St. Bulldogs

Coachoatie took advantage of his recent success, bringing in his best recruit class yet and ranked #5. This was a fairly large class size of 15. He landed one of the best TE blockers I've seen in awhile with 78 blocking, 69 strength and the #3 defensive lineman Joseph Houston who rated at 77 tackling, 68 strength and 51 game instinct. There was a need at Linebacker which he address picking up 3 players all of which landed in the Top 25.

#6 Saint Joseph's Pumas Tutank had a nice class, one of the big time players he landed was DT Mike Howard who hands down was the best at his position. 72 tackling, 75 strength, 62 game instinct and could be the best out of class 134. Most of their class was balanced but it looks like they settled some picking up Safety Adrian Silver who came in ranked #81. They made up for it with the 4th best QB, 2 top ten OL and the #2 TE.

#7 Virginia State Trojans Coral_reefer lands his best class at #7 and their key pick up may of been CB Dennis Day with his 66 speed, 56 athletics, 58 tackling, 48 game instinct. WR Timothy Dunlap #6 is a nice add for their trips option with 63 speed, 53 hands and 74 elusiveness. Virginia is coming off a 12-4 season after two seasons with over 14 wins. Coral_reefer has done a nice job loading up this team with weapons, coming in at #9 overall, I expect them to make some noise this year.

#8 Shepard Rams Another best season for Coach dawgnuts who pull is in his first top ten class since taking over the Rams. Defensive Line was a need and they picked up 3 with James McFadden coming in at #13. 78 tackling, 59 strength and 54 game instinct and 50 work ethic. All three will be great development players. The best pick of their class had to be #3 Speed Back Timothy Foster who topped out at 84 speed, 76 strength and 55 elusiveness.

#9 Humboldt State Lumberjacks

Maldito was just a few players away from pulling in one of the top classes. The Offensive Lineman were ranked 35 & 69, LB 42 and the #17 QB. Without those picks, most of their players were inside the top 15 on a class size of 16. Some great pick-ups were two speed backs in Frederick James with 75 speed and Peter Mitchell with 80 speed, DL James Shaffer #8 and Michael Martin #9.

#10 Tusculum Pioneers

Rounding out the 10 spot is Coah Clememp who landed a really balanced class. This class features a much needed position in Quarterback, #3 Alvin Blanchard rated 51 game instinct, 54 technique and 36 strength. They had a need at defensive line and signed 3 guys inside the top 40.
