Recruiting 134

National Signing Day

Here is our first edition of National Signing Day for Season 134. Let's see where the top 5 recruits in the nation (per position) landed.

This chart does not feature potential for each recruit.

If recruiting ended today, the following programs have signed the most Top 5 Players.

Tracking the number of 5-Star recruits signed

1. Texas A&M-Commerce 8 2. Saint Joseph's 5 3. Presbyterian 5 4. Ferris State 3 5. Cheyney 3 6. West Chester 3

7. Tusculum 2

8. Long Island 2

9. Virginia State 2 10. Northern Michigan 1 11. Midwestern State 1 12. Humboldt State 1 13. Saginaw Valley State 1 14. Eastern New Mexico 1 15. Valdosta State 1

West Chester is really aggressive this season and will likely move up the chart when it's all said and done. Cheyney is also in great position to move up and come out with an excellent class. Tusculum has a couple available and Valdosta St is starting to come on strong.

Quarterbacks

1 Alvin Blanchard 47.8 Tusculum

2 Joseph Coleman 47.0 Northern Michigan

3 Stephen Green 46.8 Ferris State

4 Tony Henderson 46.6 Saint Joseph`s

5 Patrick McCarty 45.7 Long Island

I'm not expecting this to move much but there is talent available where it can.

Running Backs

1 Hector Jackson 63.5 Texas A&M-Commerce

2 Ralph Painter 59.4 Long Island

3 Aaron Kern 59.3 Presbyterian

4 Charles Jones 59.2 Midwestern State

5 Frederick James 58.8 Humboldt State

The RB's are not finished yet as West Chester and Valdosta St are going after the #2 RB on the list. Shepard and Virginia St. are battling for the #3. There are still some good RB's out there so this will likely change.

Wide Receivers

1 James Rose 58.6 Presbyterian

2 Mark Connolly 58.2 Cheyney

3 Daniel Nash 57.6 Cheyney

4 Raymond Johnson 57.4 Texas A&M-Commerce

5 Timothy Dunlap 57.4 Virginia State

We are finished here with the top 5.

Tight Ends

1 Robert Cohen 57.6 Ferris State

2 Darrell Davis 57.3 Saint Joseph`s

3 Roger James 55.4 Saginaw Valley State

4 Timothy Warren 53.7 Tusculum

5 Edward Sutton 53.2 Eastern New Mexico

Probably finished here, but still a couple guys available.

Offensive Line

1 Eric Martin 63.1 Texas A&M-Commerce

2 Jerome Rankin 62.8 Saint Joseph`s

3 Kenneth Hansen 62.1 Presbyterian

4 Victor Newman 61.5 West Chester

5 Roy Barnett 61.3 Cheyney

Cheyney did a great job on securing OL this season and could easily move up the ladder here. West Chester is in another battle for the #1 OL with Cheyney. I expect this list to change.

Defensive Line

1 Mike Howard 64.1 Saint Joseph`s

2 Joseph Houston 62.3 Ferris State

3 Robert Anderson 62.1 Texas A&M-Commerce

4 Ronald Lewis 61.9 Presbyterian

5 Andrew King 61.9 Valdosta State

There is a great DL here that a D-IAA program is holding hostage, so the #1 is on the table still. Tusculum is holding 2 top DL and can easily move up the rankings here.

Linebackers

1 Benjamin Ortiz 56.2 Texas A&M-Commerce

2 Randy Snyder 56.1 Texas A&M-Commerce

3 William Sexton 55.9 West Chester

4 Patrick Reece 55.1 West Chester

5 Kevin Sykes 54.8 Saint Joseph`s

Still good talent available but I'm guessing some teams can't see it or they would be gone. The rankings can easily change here, but it's starting to look doubtful.

Defensive Backs

1 Derek Reed 55.6 Texas A&M-Commerce

2 Patrick Black 55.5 Texas A&M-Commerce

3 David Hogan 55.5 Cheyney

4 Dennis Day 53.6 Virginia State

5 Louis Silver 53.2 Presbyterian

Valdosta St and Tusculum can sneak in here if they choose to sign their guys.
